Fantastic Experience
ott 2021 • Amici
Group of 6 got a chance to “preview” some of their newly installed lines and adventures, so we got lucky and got to do a little bit of everything! Uphill climb to their newly installed Via Ferrata, crossed large suspension cables, did at least two rappelling descends, a long zip like, a few water slides, lots of waterfalls, some swimming holes, a small cliff dive and a not so small 30 foot cliff dive, all while river trekking and surrounded by some absolutely gorgeous views.
There was 3 guides for a group of 6. Very professional and safety conscious, but not so uptight that you felt like you couldn’t do something. The tour is absolutely customizable, thus a couple of the girls in our group didn’t feel like participating in some of the extreme stuff, no problem, they were able to partake of some of the views and water holes and then met the group later.
Let me be very clear, is it dangerous? It can be, IF you don’t do exactly as you are told, walk where they tell you, and follow their very detailed instructions. They issue you a life vest and a helmet, you need to bring snacks and water (do not bring anything else that will weigh you down) bring these things in a dry bag because it will be getting wet, can’t recommend enough that you wear long pants and long shirts (I actually wore my wetsuit pants) you will be hot on the first climb, but will be nicely cooled down as soon as you get wet (the water is cold)… the pants and long sleeves are essential to keep you from getting scrapped on rocks branches etc… also very useful protection against the sun. Lastly it is essential to bring whatever shoes you think have the best wet grip. I was wearing river shoes they were worthless on the slippery rocks, my wife had different style river shoes were much better, some others had tennis shoes also were slippery…. Basically wet a slick surface and then wet your shoes a bit and test them… you are going to slip regardless IF you don’t pay attention to the instructions and go too fast.
Routes are well set up for all types of people, my wife is 5’1’ and was able to traverse all without problem, one of our friends is 6’ and over 200lbs and also was able to navigate all (a bit more winded for sure). I would not recommend this particular schedule (they do customize for you) for any young kids that might find it difficult to follow instruction.
Overall one of the best experiences in my life, and me and my wife have done some crazy adventures, this one goes to the top Five. The guides are amazing and very caring, absolutely took care of us the entire time and made sure we had the best experience. Will recommend a 100%!!

One of a kind rainforest tour
ago 2021
I did the tour with a group of 8 friends total. The tour was not at all what we expected, it was above and beyond. This tour is in depth and requires more than just casually walking through a path, however, the scenery is worth it. We felt as though we were getting a one of a kind experience. The tour guides gave us safety gear and clear instructions to keep us safe. Totally worth the money.

Family with teens loved Montana Explora’s all day adventure!
Excellent time with top notch guides that showed our family with teens a true outdoor adventure. Teens were thrilled with the day and were overjoyed with the total experience.

We had two guides for our family of 5 for the “all day” adventure. Luis and Eduardo were tremendous guides that had safety in mind first and read each of us on what we wanted and could do. I cannot say enough about the two of them.

The adventure included hiking, cliff jumping (from 10-35 feet) , rock water slides, abseiling / rappelling and zip lining. An amazing 6 hour day that flew by, all among the amazing rainforest and waterfalls as part of the action.

The south side with Montana Explora seems to have been the best choice. We had two guides for the 5 of us and really had the whole adult playground to ourselves. Other guests at our resort told us they went to the north side with a guided group of 20 and when arrived at the swimming holes there were what they estimated to be 70 people.

With all the action, the surrounding backdrop and guides with their focus on fun and safety, Montana Explora was well worth the price.

A must do experience, great value!

This was such and awesome experience! On our first full day on vacation here in PR, we did the full adventure tour.
Edgar, Miguel, and Alex (there were a couple more but I can’t remember their names) were super professional, incredibly friendly, and there wasn’t a point the whole time that worried us. I’ve never met people so capable in a rainforest.
I can’t say enough good things about how much we enjoyed it. We drove past the start point by accident and had to call to find it; there was no issue and they were so helpful.

One of the best experiences in my life!
Words cannot describe how awesome this adventure is! I have done many excursions over the country and this one was by far one of top favorite. The tour guides were so helpful and made sure safety was important! I had a few people in my group who can’t swim and they made them feel safe.

I do recommend eating a good breakfast before!

Beautiful rainforest hiking and waterfalls.
giu 2021
Upon arrival we were a little unsure what to expect because the meeting place is rustic to say the least. Chickens, goats, and broken down cars but they had a waiver to sign and lifejackets hanging so we gave it a go. This "hike" is intermediate and strenuous at times. It's muddy and very very slippery so proper footwear is a must. Do not wear hiking boots. Water shoes with closed toes and a grippy rubber sole would be best. You will be wet all day so no cotton. Dryfit and spandex are good. They provide helmets and life jackets. There were 9 on our tour with 4 guides. They basically handed out equipment and pointed to the back of a truck and said "get in" and upon arrival at the start they started walking. They didn't say much, they didn't do a group introduction or explain anything about the tour, but they were serious about keeping everyone safe. The guides were always taking positions of safety while we hiked running back and forth helping us with climbing and footings, and guiding us on the trails and over the very very slippery rocks. They worked their tails off all day and gave us a great hike. Highly recommended.

Don't miss this experience. The activities and views are incredible, and the guides are outstanding. We made lifelong memories cliff jumping, sliding down waterfalls, zip lining, and rappelling. This has to be one of the most adventurous and beautiful places on Earth.

OMG! The reviews did nothing to prepare us for how incredible this adventure was going to be! My friend and I shared the morning with another female adventurer, and then had the afternoon to ourselves. Rappelling, zip lining, cliff jumping, rock water slides, oh my! The guides (Luis, Stephen & Jonathan) were incredible. Safety was at the forefront of everything we did, and it seemed like they anticipated and intercepted all my slips before they even happened. This adventure was the best part of my trip to Puerto Rico and I would 100% encourage people to take this tour.

Ladies: We wore workout leggings (leave the cotton ones at home!), bathing suit bottoms and sports bras. We also each had long sleeved rash guards that were a huge benefit. Shorts would probably not be a good idea since you're climbing over and sliding down rocks.

Gear: Bring a small backpack for your water and snacks. You will definitely want to fuel up since this is a physically taxing day. Make sure to wear your athletic shoes with a good grip/sole.

Fantastic experience! Edgar, Victor and Luis were super fun and friendly and took our group on a gorgeous hike with some adventurous optional activities (waterfall slides, cliff jumping, rappelling and zip lining). Ricky, the owner, welcomed us back at the end of the day with a few local beers and laughs. Great people, excellent tour - couldn’t recommend it more. (Pack snacks, water, and a dry bag if you’ve got one!)
