View not the best but in fairness I knew that before I went.
Group of people behind who talked and moved around throughout the performance who spoiled the show. They were spoken to 6 times by staff but not thrown out .
Spoiled the last viewing of "Backstairs Billy"

Great view even for my "restricted view" seat. Royal Circle (usually called Dress Circle in other theatres) is on street level, which makes this a great theatre for people like me who do not want to pay stall pricing. Quick service at both bars and intermission ice cream makes this even better.

What shocking attitude from a manger.
I go to the theatre a lot and in the last year had fantastic service from theatres due to having a disability but this theatre I was accused of fraud, was told I couldn’t see the show and no compassion at all!
The manger spoke to me rudely, like I was a little kid!
Tonight I arrived to see the “ enemy of the people” I had my tickets but they were not scanning, so I go to the box office with 2 tickets clearly marked the 10th February at 7.30pm but according to the manger I should have gone on the 9th!
He made out that because I showed a screen shot it wasn’t correct! How the hell can anyone fake a ticket!
I went home minus seeing a play id paid for

Back Stairs Billy was a funny and entertaining play. It explored the working relationship between Billy and the Queen Mother, whilst also showing their friendship. Billy's mischievous humour was great. Excellent cast. Cute corgis. Thank you for a lovely evening

This is the second time we have visited this theatre, since needing a wheelchair space.
Last time, we opted for the left side of the theatre but getting to the Accessible toilet was near impossible, as you have to go thorough the foyer to get there, which is a nightmare in the interval and almost worse before the show.
This time, we opted for right side, which is nearest the toilet but this was almost worse. We knew the view is not great from these seats and in this play you missed a lot of what was going on. We did manage to use the toilet, before the show, but a wheelchair won't fit in the toilet, so it was left outside plus negotiating getting in and out of the toilet is near impossible if you are disabled as the door wants to close all the time. Fortunately, I was on hand to help my husband, but the Access host was worse than useless, as I tried to push the wheelchair in the toilet to help him get out of there, whilst holding the door open and holding my handbag and his small bag,. No help was offered at all, as she stood and watched. She also watch me go to the bar on the second floor, as the bar in the main foyer is a champagne only bar. I am disabled and I struggled to get up and down stairs and left my husband with the bag. When I returned and we were in the auditorium she offered a QR code card, so I could order from my seat....................a bit late really.
It will have to be something really good before we return to this theatre again, as it was more than disappointing. Neither of us felt that great and we left during the interval.

Really poor seat raking near the back of the stalls meant that my husband and I barely saw what was happening on stage for taller heads in front of us or people constantly playing head tennis due to their own viewing challenges! We didn't enjoy the show as much as we'd hoped but the poor quality seating (including minimal leg room) put the tin lid on it. We left during the interval.

I’ve got tickets for a show “backstairs Billy” and due to a problem at home today I can’t make it
Therese plenty of availability on the remaining weeks of this shows run it’s not been a great success and in asking could I move to a date with tons of availability was told “ our policy is ..”
Zero helpfulness. Fine. Lesson learned - I won’t spend £200 on a ticket in future it’s nicer staying at home.

Lovely atmospheric Theatre with a charm of old. Not overwhelmingly huge so an intimate setting to watch your chosen show with very good views and audible reach. Ours was ' Back Stairs Billy' which was very entertaining, well acted and well staged.

Wondering if the Royal Circle row B seats are good? Or the Stalls row M? For the play Backstairs Billy.

Is there anywhere in the theatre where we can leave our luggage? We are travelling for a performance in December and wont have time to check in at the hotel before the show starts.?

They have a cloak room but I'm not sure if they would take luggage. They take small bags and coats.
I'd call before hand before visiting just to check if they take luggage.
You can book a courier service that will bring your luggage to the hotel for you so once you've seen the show, can collect your bags and check in.

Sorry, I don't remember.
Is there a bag check available?

There is a cloakroom just off the foyer on the ground floor where you can check coats and bags. They will also look after wheelchairs if you have one as they can only allow two chairs into the auditorium itself

I have just booked tickets to see Goodnight Mister Tom in December (at this theatre for the Christmas period) but I am a bit concerned as I have booked Row A tickets (£53 each) and I am starting to worry if we will be able to see ok? I have 2 children aged 10 and 12. Due to the price of these tickets I assumed they were not restricted view and they weren't sold as such but I see that these seats sometimes sell for £10 but I guess that may be for less popular shows or is it infact that these are restricted view tickets?

There is a handrail at the front if you are in the dress circle. Seats may be cramped but we generally sit here as it's cheaper. You will find that that row c or d will be much more expensive. In the stalls row a not a good idea as the stage will block yr view.
