I've been coming to this spa for several years, but sadly unless it's given some TLC, the cost just isn't justified.
My friend bought me a voucher for Christmas, and my first issue was trying to get a date booked. The spa had also launched a huge half price January sale and I managed to book in on the last day they had before the voucher expired in March. It took me 40 minutes to get through to a booking agent and the only date left was a Monday.
I then went online to look at treatments. The prices have gone through the roof, and it appears the half price days have merely been a way to get people through the doors and then have to pay extortionate amounts for treatments. As a result of this I decided I couldn't justify the cost of any treatments and would just enjoy the facilities.
However, the facilities are now looking very tired and shabby in places. The area around the pool is grubby and run down. Many of the doors are rusty or with rotting frames, there are leak marks and rust on the ceiling, the waterfall area was rusty with most of the waterfall jets not working. The area on the swimming pool side of the waterfall was pretty grim and extremely dirty around the base. Only 1 out of 3 of the high pressure jets were working in the hydrotherapy pool, the curtains around the poolside beds and chair cushions were stained and there were empty paper cups and plasters on the floor. I'd expect to find that in a leisure centre pool, but not at a luxury day spa.
The deep relaxation room was still lovely, although the flame effect fire was noisy and rattly, so not as quiet as it used to be.
The toilet area in the female changing room is in need of repair. The door frames are very dirty or rotting away, there were no hand towels and the sink area looks dirty and discoloured.
The food we had for lunch was amazing. I had the houmous, chicken and berry cake. The main course was very small with 1 new potato and a very small stem of brocolli but the quality was excellent. The restaurant staff were attentive and service was quick. At the end of our day we really fancied a sweet treat and a coffee. There is nowhere to get any sort of snacks around 5pm which is a real shame and I think a trick is being missed here. There was an unmanned tea and coffee station but the coffee wasn't great, there were no cups and only 1 tea bag left.
It's also a real shame the view out of the restaurant window was basically a building site and some old tatty wooden furniture. I appreciate obviously works need doing sometimes but it was a real shame. The whole outside area, including furniture needs a big revamp, but maybe that was what was in the process of being done.
Overall, considering a non-sale day spa costs around £140, I would definitely not be paying this to return. I've tried lots if spas in Kent and Eastwell Manor was always my favourite but it has sadly lost that luxurious feel it once had. If I'd paid to be a member, I would definitely be asking for a refund!
I'm really hoping prices of treatments become more realistic again and that the spa is given the TLC it needs and deserves.

Would not recommend! Absolutely packed round the pool area so no where to sit, hydro pool shut, tiny jacuzzi, flies in the sauna area 🤢 generally delipidated slow service in the restaurant, didn’t get the things advertised, ie snacks on arrival, tote bag and the surcharges on the “all inclusive” menu were ridiculous - £4.50 for some vegetables with the main course 🤬

This relates purely to the day spa and not the hotel itself. Before booking I looked at the reviews and saw the negative comments but booked anyway. Please, pleases if you are reading this before buying, DO NOT BOOK! Way overpriced for shabby outbuilding, broken facilities and treatments that are half arsed and not completed properly. Avoid at all costs

If you're thinking of treating a loved one or friend to a spa day at Champneys Eastwell Manor, Ashford, perhaps as a Christmas present, please THINK AGAIN.
I booked a spa day over the phone for 2 people as a Christmas present for a friend and myself on Wed 13th December 2023 and gave all my contact details. After a long drive, we arrived and were checked in after a 10 minute wait for other customers. Just as we'd finished and were about to go in, the Receptionist said, "oh and by the way... the Thalasso pool is out of order and not working; the steam room is broken and is waiting to be fixed, and the jacuzzi is out of order so can't be used". So what was left? A cold pool with a busy exercise class going on and a small sauna for everyone to squash into.
Speaking to others who have been recently and looking at other reviews, this seems to be the norm at Eastwell Manor now - at least one or more of the facilities sold as part of their spa package are out or order or not being used (to save money?). I went a few years ago and even then the Thalasso pool wasn't working, so how long do these things take to fix? Champneys had my contact details, so it would have been courteous to let me know in advance of our drive there so I could decide if I still wanted it - but then they they would have to offer me a refund. I said I wasn't happy after paying so much, not being contacted and having a long drive for nothing without breakfast, and could we at least go in, then come back another time for the spa day when hopefully more facilities would be open. We wanted to grab a coffee before our drive back home as we hadn't had breakfast, in the expectation of having it as part of the spa day. The receptionist said she would have to check with management - after a long wait on the phone, she finally got through to someone who said to tell us that if we went in at all, we would have used our voucher and wouldn't be able to come back another day for our spa.
So, unless you want dreadful customer service, broken/closed facilities, lack of courtesy and consideration, wasted time and petrol, and embarrassment if you are treating someone, please book your "spa day" elsewhere.
To add insult to injury, I got an email from Champneys 2 days later saying: "We hope you’re feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after your recent stay at Champneys Eastwell Manor. We absolutely loved having you and can’t wait to see you again soon. The exclusive vouchers below are only available for returning guests. But hurry, they're only available to buy for the next four days." Unbelievable.
I'm now going to try and get a refund for the unused spa day - wish me luck - and save your time and money by going elsewhere.

This was our final visit to Eastwell Manor. I have been going for around the last 20years. This was my 3rd Champneys visit in the last 6 months and my 2nd at Eastwell.
The location was tired when Champneys took it over and it feel like it’s never had the real investment that it’s needed.
We paid full price for our spa day
Good greeting on arrival, given our bags and talked through the welcome of the day. Why are there no gown size options available?
Go to change and get ready, still only 1 toilet available was broken when we went in the summer!
No toilet roll in the 1 working toilet, no hand towels and this was at 10am
No towels available at all, told housekeeping doing their best.
Breakfast is nothing special, and is regurgitated at lunch time as pudding options.
The soup was flavourless, the Seabass was lovely.
There was clearly a special offer running as was packed, beds occupied by towels and no bodies for long periods.
The spa area is awful, mould, broken bed structures, chipped tiles, paint peeling off the ceiling, rusty waterfall.
The dressing room at the end of the day was disgusting.
It’s like people have no respect for the place now as it’s so rundown and there felt like a lack of staff to cater for the volume of people?
We enjoyed our day as I’ve moved away from the area so it’s always to catch up with my girls but we’ve agreed this was our last visit here and they’ll come to me next time for our spa’s and it won’t be Champneys
I wouldnt recommend until it’s been given a refurb
I cant comment on treatments as we didn’t have any this time, historically they have been good

We spent a day at the spa. It was my fourth visit and noting seems to change.
It’s nice but the menu is the same every time for lunch. I did not have treatments as they were too expensive but, I was glad to see that the website has been slightly improved if you do want to book one before you arrive.
Unfortunately, some of the other reviews are correct. There is paint peeling off of walls inside. The sauna. There is a lump of wood lifted up which could give someone a splinter and they’re also tiles missing from the large Jacuzzi pool. The changing rooms are crowded, and the toilets and floors are not cleaned often enough Making it slippery.
On this occasion, my free flip flops were too small, but it seemed that everyone had small. A bit bizarre, but maybe they had run out. However they did not apologise for this
I did have a good day, but I do feel that this place is now ready for a refurbishment, and if Champneys are putting their name on it, then it really needs to live up to their standards

My friend and I went for a spa day at Champneys Eastwell Manor and I have to say overall it was extremely disappointing.
It was far too busy, I’m guessing as they were doing a 2 for 1 offer they crammed in as many people as they could.
Starting with breakfast which was underwhelming and unbelievably noisy. There were a couple of very large parties who failed to appreciate that we were all there for a day of relaxation not a party.
The locker room was like a maze and poorly signposted. The lockers themselves are poorly designed to the point where I smashed my head on the corner of the locker whist trying to open it. Whilst checking to see if I hadn’t split my head open I noticed a sign saying “ be careful opening the locker doors” . The presence of this sign clearly goes to show I was not the first and I know I wasn’t the last because another spa attendee did the same later that day. I am still sporting a bruise and lump 2 days after.
The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna areas were dirty with paint crumbling off the ceiling. The tiles were dirty and in need of a good clean. The towels are so small they bearly larger than a hand towel and one I picked up from the clean pile in the changing room had old blood stains on it. !!!!
The 3 course lunch was ok but not g special and choice limited. If you wanted vegetables or drinks these are not part of the spa day package so incurred a charge.
The 3 relaxation rooms are abysmal. I am a regular spa goer and I have never before been in a relaxation room where there is no low music and all you can hear is the air conditioning unit and the screeching from the very noisy party of women who not content with spoiling the atmosphere at breakfast and by the pool thought it was ok to have a party in the room. The rooms smelt musty . Every other spa room I have been always has diffusers or some sort of aromatic aroma.
The treatment itself was ok and the therapist was nice. However the level of upselling was very annoying during the treatment and after.
At the end of our day we went to reception to hand in our bathrobes as requested and there was not a single member of staff to be seen. After waiting for over 5 minutes I popped my head into the restaurant to ask if they could call someone to the desk. There was a young lady on her mobile phone who could see me waiting to talk to her but carried on her private not work related phone call. When she eventually finished I politely asked her if she could call someone to reception to which she replied that it was her and she would come and check us out.
From start to finish this was the worst spa experience I have ever had.
If you are looking for a relaxing experience in a clean, calm, safe place I suggest you give Champneys Eastwell Manor a very wide berth.

I visited with a friend it was the first time I have been since it was Champneys, the facilities are beautiful from the relaxation rooms to the inside and outside Pool, the service from most of the staff was incredible, there was only one disappointment when a beauty therapist gave another colleague a look when we were going for our treatments, however I would like to mention Barbara beauty therapist, Tommy on reception and Georgie who were OUTSTANDING and made this day for us.

A disappointing spa day ! I am a regular visitor to Eastwell Manor Champneys Spa and today I was disappointed. It is a lovely location and I have been many times but it was not up to their previous standards. It is I feel quite expensive to go for a spa day so expectations are high. The reception staff were good, but maybe it would be helpful if they inform customers that some of the spa facilities are not working. The breakfast staff were polite but we were shown to an uncleared table at first. .They had no glasses out for juice , the coffee cups were behind the counter but no one was there to help you . The hot water for tea had run out and a queue was forming waiting for this . There were lots of tables waiting to be cleared and lots of empty plates where the self service food was meant to be . It seemed like they had a shortage of staff . The next thing that was disappointing was that now they charge you if you want to do a class , this was never the case when I’ve visited before and when I asked why I wasn’t given an answer apart from that the aqua class is free or if I wanted to go for a hike that was also free ! When I’ve been before the classes have never been over busy so class numbers can’t be the reason .
There were no towels in either changing room . The shower was full of hair and mould and there was a dead beatle by the side of the lounger and dirt and rubbish left lying around .Clearly the cleaning is not up to scratch . The pool was rather chilly too . The food at lunch time was delicious and they did have more staff so the service was good but again they had run out of bread’s except for onion bread and the self service desserts area was sparse where it had not been refilled . You have to pay extra for potatoes or mixed veg .
I did not book a treatment as I feel they are very expensive. On check out I was charged for a coffee that was meant to be free as I am a gold card member and had shown my card (the charge was removed when questioned) and they had added on a percentage for a tip on the potatoes I’d ordered to go with my lunch .
Unfortunately I am meant to be returning at the end of this month and bringing 3 friends for a birthday treat who have never been before and are really looking forward to it, out of choice I would not be returning but i have already pre paid . Please Eastwell get your act together and stop with add-on charges and hidden tips. Hopefully when I do have to return at the end of the month the jacuzzi and all jet massagers will be working by then and your staff and cleaning issues will be sorted . After today I would not recommend this place .

Please read the other reviews and avoid! as it is still in an awful state. spa & changing rooms are extremely dirty. Black mould on the tiles round the swimming pool an absolute health risk. Service is appalling not what you would expect from a Champneys. This is a highly priced spa that doesn’t live up to even a one star it honestly was the worst experience and spa I have ever come across. I was even served a Tea in a dirty cup. The list is endless.
