Really enjoyed visiting these gardens. Collected by mini bus from Midhurst car park. Frequent service. Loved the different gardens & interesting planting. Small cafe. Gd place for picnics. Highlight is the innovative greenhouse however opening isn't guaranteed but will revisit hoping to see! Lovely walking area.

So pleased to have discovered this hidden gem just on the outskirts of Midhurst. Beautiful gardens; beautiful view around every corner; beautiful walking through a Hornbeam tunnel, past Hoohas and waterfull, along the river, out to the folly and a stroll through a wonderful garden to a beautiful modern glasshouse. Stunning. Worth going just to walk through the grounds. Welcoming little tearoom with indoor and outside seating. Excellent scones and cakes. Very friendly and welcoming staff and ditto for the visitors - we were all so surprised to have found this place. We were a bit concerned about how the minibus pick up would work, but it was easy and smooth. Make sure you park in the Leisure Centre / Library car park and not the nearby Post Office car park, as we did... We had a stroll around Midhurst afterwards Again, worth a look.

Stunning gardens and beautiful woodland walks plus the fantastic work of art seeing the tropical house in operation.
No on site parking but the park and ride service from Midhurst was very efficient. Only downside was that the cafe was a little sparse with its food selection. Well worth a visit . Staff very friendly.

Lovely gardens well worth being a visit . I found the toilet set up very disturbing, there was no warning you were about to enter a gender neutral toilet, only once inside did l find this out, very disturbing.

An absolutely fabulous place - Not too big, not too small, just right! The restricted entry numbers mean the experience feels intimate, almost private, but there is more than enough to see, with a wonderful array of quirky surprises, architectural wonders (old and new), and stunning vistas to absorb. Unique, and probably the garden we have enjoyed the most of all those we’ve seen. Well worth a visit.
On a practical note - parking is in the Grange car park in Midhurst (which you need to pay separately for). The shuttle minibuses leave from a point near the car park entrance marked by a not-overly-obvious green flag, run about every 20 mins (see photo for schedule) and are comfortable and efficient. The transfer takes less than 10 mins. On site there’s a little café selling hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes, scones & ice cream, with a delightful outdoor terrace and some indoor seating. The staff were exceptionally lovely and knowledgeable.

Excellent gardens. Staff friendly and helpful
However...the website warning about road diversions nearby needs strengthening. Midhurst is a disaster area. We failed to get to the Grange car park because of road closures.
We were forced to park on a nearby verge - against all the NT advice ! BUT we had no choice.
Also no lunch available as late as 13.15.
No lunches had been delivered to the cafe.
The coffee was excellent !

We were in the area on the right day so decided to visit Woolbeding, so glad we did as it was lovely. Slightly early in the season, it must be even more beautiful when there are more flowers out.
A great variety to keep the interest - formal gardens, glasshouses, outdoor spaces and the brilliant 'Long Walk' with follies and vistas - a great modern take on an 18th century pleasure garden, and really not a very long walk at all!
The system of shuttle buses from Midhurst seemed to work extremely well with very frequent buses, moreover all the staff/volunteers be they on the buses, in the coffee shop or in the gardens were all super-friendly, helpful and welcoming. Even though it was a wet day, they helped to make it a really good experience.

This is the most amazing gardens , from the minute you stepped onto the small coach waiting to take you to the gardens a short journey away you were treated with exceptional service . Every member of staff treated you with a smile and offered to make your day a memorable one, the volunteer who gave a short talk about the gardens was full of such knowledge you felt you just wanted to listen to more.
The silk route garden is a real treat and the glasshouse being quite unbelievable even a banana tree inside !
Then the gardens beyond were an absolute delight.
We would like to say thank you to all the gardeners , and all the staff and volunteers and of course to Simon Sainsbury and Stewart Grimshaw for making the gardens possible its a very special place to visit.
And if I may say, being dog free made it so much more of a pleasant experience .

Limited opening hours and a lack of parking mean you have to book a slot and be collected in a minibus from the Midhurst leisure centre car park - not really a hardship as it means visiotr numbers are low at any one time. The formal and informal gardens are wonderful. There is the added attraction of a spectacular fountain and of the Thomas Heatherwick glasshouse. There is a relatively low-key National Trust presence and a nice tea room.
