One of the more interesting places I’ve visited it was just fascinating from the house to the history of the people. The tour guide was beyond excellent and informative loved it.

My husband and I visited this place for our 25th anniversary. Morven Park was as gorgeous as it was 25 years ago when we first saw this spot and fell in love with it. We got married here 25 years ago. In a very intimate setting, with a few family members, we were to elope to his place for a hideaway wedding which was crashed by my mother and father, sister and cousins. Somehow all of them found out our wedding plans. At this endearing park, we said our vows under the red Crepe Myrtle trees... Morven Park was not yet discovered as a wedding venue back then.

Although the number of rooms toured was small, there were many items in the rooms that I’d never seen before and you really felt a sense of the personalities of those who once lived there. Perhaps most of the credit for this goes to our docent who seemed to be knowledgeable about the people who lived here as well as the furnishings. She would light up when we asked questions about particular items in a room. What beautiful views from the columned entry and the front windows!

I walked the grounds and took the manor tour. This place is so fascinatingly eclectic. Inside it felt about as far from a VA governor's residence as you get. Lots of Asian items picked up in their travels or gifted from [I think] Soong Mei-ling, Chiang Kai-shek's wife. Lots of Italian villa influence as well. Good place to visit if you're in the Leesburg area. Extra bonus if you like horses and hunting as it's famous for that stuff as well.

We visist Morven Park weekly to walk K9s, and as a member of Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy their office is in the Gate House. We have been members of Morven to help support this non-profit and attend many events--the latest: The Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience--awesome! Hope to attend the fireworks viewing again in 2023. Love the Park. Peaceful, flat and hill walking.

Our tour guide made the experience what it was. She clearly loves what she does and it showed. Really neat history of the house and grounds. You are literally immersed in the experience and not just looking from the outside in.

The eclectic furnishings in this building are fascinating and the tour is really interesting. I normally shy away from guided tours because they tend to be boring, stuffy, and I prefer to move at my own pace on a self-guided tour but Regan, was one of the best tour guides I have encountered. She was enthusiastic and had an extensive knowledge of the mansion's history as well as detailed information about every item in the home. The tour felt laid back but full of intimate details about the building, the artifacts, and families that lived there. Thank you, Regan!
If you miss the start of a tour go wander around the 1,000 acres for 45min and come back for the next one. The Davis family tomb and boxwood gardens are interesting, there is a nice, steep, wooded, 1.3mi hike behind the mansion, or you can just relax and enjoy the view.

I would HIGHLY suggest working with your family photographer for photos at Morven Park. There are so many great and unique locations to get the perfect shot. Plus, if you have kids, they can run around and be crazy all they want! :)

On our visit to Leesburg, we stopped into Morven Park to go for a hike. The grounds have a nice 1.2 mile hiking loop into the woods. It's a little steep at first but it is not too tough a hike.
The only issue was a couple of trees had fallen across the hiking trail and these trees probably should have been sawed apart and removed from the trail (we had to climb over them - there was no way around them).
As luck would have it many of the buildings, including the mansion were open and we got the chance to look in the mansion and one of the farmhand houses.
Overall a nice experience and a place to take advantage of on a nice day.

We enjoyed taking a guided tour of Morven Park mansion. The couple that owned the mansion beginning in 1904 furnished it with amazing items from around the world. I am so thankful the owners had set up a foundation to provide the public with the chance to see this amazing place. The grounds are beautiful as well. We also enjoyed the Carriage Museum located on the grounds nearby. Due to Covid, masks were required. You can purchase tickets online or at the mansion. It is recommended that you reserve a ticket online, but the day we went (end of August 2021), this was not necessary. This is located very close to the historic part of Leesburg, Virginia.

Yes there's plenty of picnic tables, and benches. After you enter go to the left and you will see a large parking lot. There's tables there. Enjoy!

While enjoying the Park's gardens and grounds, you will find restrooms in the Comfort Station at the end of the main parking lot AND in the Coach House complex (water fountain there as well).

Yes! Morven Park is a very popular dog walking destination. Park policy asks that you keep your dog on leash at all times and that you pick-up and dispose of any waste. We hope you and your dog enjoy the Park!

No, reservations are not required unless you are a large group coming for a mansion tour. The Morven Park Mansion and the Museum of Hounds & Hunting are open Saturdays and Sundays from noon - 5 p.m. Tours begin at the Visitor Entrance to the Mansion on the hour; last tour 4 p.m. The Winmill Carriage Museum is open SATURDAYS ONLY from noon - 5 p.m. You can purchase tickets at the Mansion Visitor Entrance. Please note that groups of 10 or more are eligible for admission discounts but reservations are required. --Morven Park Staff

There is no fee to enter the park itself. The mansion costs $10 which includes the carriage and hunting museums in the fee.
