I am sitting here haven't showered for 3 nights. Why? As the front desk would tell you, "Things happen...". No hot water for 3 days! And it is late October! Seriously? Oh! By the way, this is not the first time when there is no hot water. Realistically speaking, probably the fourth time. Well, this is not the only thing. If you are living on the first floor, make sure you bring a earplug, because you are very likely to hear people chatting outside your window around 2am on a Saturday night. Not to mention the sound of a old guy polishing cars for business in front of your window during the day. If you think the front desk people are nice? Well, you are wrong... I think I am probably lived here longer than anybody else. Of course they are nice, because you give them money. But if they did something wrong, they will simply tell you that, "Things happen" three times in a roll, give you no chance to speak. I feel they are more like my boss, instead I am their client. Throughout the year, I have seen all kinds of interesting insects in my room. Some you can barely see, some as big as your fingers. Some on the wall, some on your bed. Yes! I am not kidding. So if you are a biologist? Welcome! If not? You got the idea... By the way, there are some pretty big rats out side the building. But don't worry! There is a semi-homeless cat out side walking around sometimes. But I have to be honest here, the rats never come into your room, so no need to worry about that. Also, be prepared that the staff here might bringing strangers or I maybe should call them future residents (trying hard to be nice to them here) into your room. If they knocked and you do not answer, then they will open the door to show you the room? They are so nice! Right? Well, what if I am in the shower and did not hear them knocking the door? Oops... Ice-cream lovers, please don't bring your gelato inside, because the refrigerator can not freeze your gelato... I bought 3 box of gelato, all wasted... lesson learned... By the way, there is no washing machine for you to use... you have to carry it to 105th street to wash... Or if you are rich, you can spent $10+ and let somebody else wash it for you, depends on the weight. Otherwise, everything is just fine... Just fine.... I highly recommend you to find somewhere else, if you want to have a nice NYC experience... I am moving out very soon! Yeah!…
First the PROBLEM and then the rest: I paid in advance (with fees for cleaning and all) around $1.900 dolars for 1 month. I also had to pay in advance $1.600 for the security deposit fee. They were supposed to return this a few days after my departing.... it did not happen that way. After a week I started calling.... after 2 weeks I started worrying (I was also back in my country, far away from the possibility of confronting them in person).... Nobody gave me a straight answer, they always said to me not to worry, it will be done tomorrow, they didn't answered my emails or explain why the deposit was not return.... Gabriel was the manager and the person I always talked. When he picked up the phone, he always told me: don't worry, it will be return. Never answered after or gave explanations. After almost 2 months, a lot of pressure from me (I even called my the academy where I studied to ask them to intervine) I threat about writing bad reviews, inform to the schools and academys that work with them, etc. they gave me my money back. By the way, they didn't apologize or explain to me anything... Gabriel responded in his final email with a little threat and also asking me to never come back. The building is good, I took a room with private bathroom and kitchen. It had also microwave and a refrigerator. It was neat and enough. It was in the 4th floor, no elevator. No problem for me (only arriving an leaving with the bags). Nice building manager, they received and saved for me for example the things I bought on amazon (more than a hotel, is a building in which most of the time the door is closed and the people staying are students renting apartment for a month or more) The neighborhood is not the best. I don't recommend walking outside in the middle of the night. It's very good that you have just outside a subway station, though it's a little far from midtown (around 30-35 minutes to Union Square) Bottom line, it was good for the price... But if the price includes that you will not receive back your security deposit or you will received it 2 month later after a lot of bad moments.... it's not worth it and doesnt compensate anything (you could have paid 3.500 worth hotel) and that's why I choose 1 star rating. Next time though I would have prefer to pay a couple of hundreds extra and stay in the one that they have in Unnion Square to be more close to everything) if I was sure they will give me my security deposit back.…
El hostal se encuentra cerca del metro. El personal es amable, siempre con una sonrisa y buena predisposición. Es excelente por su ubicación. Gracias por todo. Lo tendré en cuenta cuando vuelva a ir y lo recomendaría a mis íntimos.
